Next Meeting

The next meeting of the Clan MacNeil AP will be held on Sunday, April 22nd, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Christmas Island Fire Hall. As always, a light lunch and a good cup of tea will be served.

Clan MacNeil Day, Friday, August 4th, 2017

Clan MacNeil Day was held on Friday, August 4th, with a well-attended afternoon of events, a delicious supper, and a square dance! Our thanks go once again to all of the volunteers who make this day such a success. See you next year!

Bingo at the Christmas Island Fire Hall

Clan MacNeil sponsors Merchandize Bingo games on Sunday afternoons, starting promptly at 2:00 pm. The Fire Hall has washroom facilities, a pop machine ($1.00 per can of pop) and lots of parking. The next bingo game will be held November 26. Bring a friend and have a fun afternoon!

Clan MacNeil CD Re-Released

In 1992, Maxie MacNeil and Paul M. MacDonald recorded a lovely CD entitled "MacNeil's Highland Ceilidh" and we are thrilled to announce that the music will be available once again on CD. This CD is available at a cost of $15.00 each. All MacNeil merchandize can also be ordered by emailing Hughena MacKinnon: hughenamackinnon@gmail.com.

Clan MacNeil in the Atlantic Provinces Bursary, 2017

Each year, a graduating student of Rankin Memorial School in Iona is awarded a $100.00 bursary, in memory of the Clan members that have passed away during the year. Congratulations to Logan MacLellan! The bursary was awarded in memory of Kay Potribny and Charlie MacNeil.

Clan MacNeil in the Atlantic Provinces DVD Release

A DVD is available: "The Wit, Humour & Ingenuity of the Cape Breton Gael". This DVD features stories and repartee from the communities of Iona, Washabuck and Christmas Island. The price is $20.00 and it is available through the Highland Village in Iona by emailing highlandvillage at gov.ns.ca. It will also be sold at local stores and at community events.
